BIM

Description

Leading a project in BIM mode requires a precise management methodology to be in place. As soon we receive notification of a contract, the BIM manager at ARCHIMEN draws up an inventory of the stakeholders and the software resources available. They draft a BIM methodological booklet for the project, in accordance with the client’s BIM expectations, and distribute it to all stakeholders. This booklet covers:

  • The flow diagram of the BIM team and the BIM committee,
  • The meeting frequency of the BIM committee and all of the BIM coordinators,
  • The BIM objectives
  • The chosen IT environments: Our main design environment is based on Autodesk’s REVIT software
  • The interoperability to be implemented (IFC, etc.)
  • The organisation of the collaborative work
  • Content of the models

BIM Management meetings – BIM Committee The BIM Manager systematically holds an initial information meeting about the detailed expected outcomes of the BIM, with presentation of the methodological booklet. The BIM committee meetings then take place at a frequency of one meeting per month, hosted by the BIM Manager. In addition, the BIM Manager organises BIM work and coordination meetings at variable frequencies, depending on the progress of the project. In the synthesis phase, these meetings are weekly. BIM Management tools and methods To organise the BIM Management, our teams take care of the implementation, distribution, training and necessary assistance for the deployment of the tools needed to share the BIM among the various members of the project management team. The BIM MANAGEMENT team includes dedicated computer technicians specialising in remote BIM server deployment, implementation of data security and data exchange procedures, backup, etc. Lastly, at the end of the project, we will be able to recommend a BIM environment able to receive all the project data needed for operation: ARCHIMEN was behind the initiative to create ACTIVe3D, the first real estate technical management software solution based on a BIM approach.
